CHOSEN

YOU HAVE BEEN CHOSEN!

Let’s be honest, we have all been there. Waiting to picked, hoping (maybe even praying) that you aren’t the last one picked for a game, a group project, etc. The fear builds up in you, sweat beads off your forehead. You eagerly hold your breath to hear your name, hearing sigh from others when their names are called. If you are chosen last, there’s that eyeroll or huff when the picker says your name because they have to do it. Fortunately, it is completely different when you accept Jesus. Jesus parties!

There is more joy in heaven over one lost sinner who repents and returns to God than over 99 others who are righteous and haven’t strayed. - Luke 15:7

Angels are singing, trumpets are blaring, all for your name! You will always be first in the eyes of God. He chose you before you ever heard His name. Jesus said,

You didn’t choose me. I chose you. I appointed you to go and produce lasting fruit, so the the Father will give you whatever you ask for, using my name. - John 15:16

In accepting Christ, you are chosen to be part of the family of God. Jesus died so that you don’t. You were not chosen because Jesus had to, you were chosen because He loved you first. He chose you because in His eyes, your life is more important than the pain of the cross. When they pierced His hands, He thought of you. When they stabbed his side, He thought of you. When he drank the bitter taste of your sin, he accepted it because He chose you. Not only did He chose you, He believes in you and gave you a role in his family - He appointed you to go and bear fruit. To share Him and His love, to shine His light throughout your life.

Imitate God, therefore, in everything you do, because you are His dear children. Live life filled with love, following the example of Christ. He loved us and offered himself as a sacrifice for us, a pleasing aroma to God. - Ephesians 5:1-2

How do you live your life as the chosen? Are you shining your light for Christ to the world? Or are you walking around, upset that you weren’t picked? There is nothing this world has that compares to the awesomeness of God. It is not your destiny to be chosen by the world, for you have been chosen by Most Holy, Ruler of All, King of Kings and Lord of Lords. All you have to is speak to God, under the name of Jesus Christ, and your petition is heard. You have the ear of the mountain mover, the chain breaker, the restorer; this world cannot offer you any such thing. You send your senator a letter, you get a generic automatic response letter stating how the senator values your opinion. To the senator, you are just another constituent, but to God when He hears you, He hears HIS child.

Because of Christ and our faith in him, we can now come boldly and confidently into God’s presence. - Ephesians 3:12

You are loved more than your heart or mind can fathom. Jesus chose to die for you so that you can live a life abundant, full of love and grace. Don’t chase the things of this world. Don’t get upset if you aren’t chosen first, because you were chosen first by the KING! <3
